Tideborne Outpost

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Tideborne Outpost is a slower, thinkier game than most of what we cover, and I mean that as praise. You build a settlement on the coast and constantly negotiate with the sea: expand too far and the tide reclaims it, play too safe and you starve of resources.

The pacing is deliberate. This isn't a tap-fest; it's a game you check in on, adjust, and let breathe. Production chains are readable once they click, and the tide mechanic forces genuinely different layouts each run.

There's no real story to speak of, which some people will miss. For me the systems carried it just fine.
