About

Pocket Lap started as a group chat where three friends kept sending each other links to games and arguing about which ones were worth the storage space. At some point the arguments got long enough that we figured we should write them down properly.

We focus on games you play with your phone in portrait or landscape during a commute, a coffee break or a long wait somewhere. Racers, arcades, casual pick-up-and-play stuff, but we also cover RPGs, strategy and the odd simulator when they grab us.,Every game on the site is installed and played by a real person on a real phone. We don't score anything we haven't spent at least a few evenings with. If a game gets boring after an hour, we say so, and if a small title surprises us, we make some noise about it.,The catalogue grows slowly on purpose. We'd rather write six honest reviews than fifty rushed ones, and we come back to update entries when a big patch changes how something feels.,Nobody here gets paid by studios. We buy or download the games ourselves and keep the editorial side separate from anything commercial. That's the whole pitch, really.
